**Bhagalpur, Bihar:** A 14-year-old Class 10 student, Somil Raj, died by suicide on Sunday after allegedly shooting himself with his father’s licensed revolver at his home in Bhagalpur district, Bihar. Police confirmed the incident, stating that the boy, son of Rajeev Kumar Singh, appeared unhappy with his recent half-yearly examination results.
According to Kahalgaon Police Station SHO Dev Guru, Somil reportedly sent messages to friends indicating his intention to end his life before the incident. Family members revealed that he had scored below 50% in three subjects, causing him significant distress. Police have seized the revolver and the student’s mobile phone as part of their ongoing investigation. A post-mortem examination has been conducted. While the investigation is underway, initial findings suggest that the death was a suicide.
