Sun Dec 08 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Kassel Airport Adds Flights to Mallorca, Expands Summer Schedule

**Kassel, Germany –** Kassel Airport (KSL) in Calden announced an expanded summer 2025 flight schedule, including an additional weekly flight to Mallorca. The popular holiday destination will now see two flights per week – Thursdays and Sundays – from May 8th to October 26th, operated by Albastar using a Boeing 737-800. This represents a significant increase from the single weekly flight offered in summer 2024.

The new flights offer passengers 20kg of checked baggage, 8kg of hand luggage, airport check-in, and free parking. Tickets are available as part of package holidays or as individual flights. Airport Managing Director Lars Ernst expressed confidence in the popularity of the additional Mallorca flights, citing the destination’s appeal.

Beyond Mallorca, Kassel Airport plans to offer flights to Gran Canaria (February 2nd to the end of April 2024) and South Tyrol (May to October 2025) as regular routes. A number of special charter flights to destinations including Lappland, Rome, Sicily, the Lipari Islands, Barcelona, the Algarve, and Lisbon are also planned for 2025. Further negotiations for additional routes and charter flights are underway.

The announcement comes after a period of uncertainty for the airport. Recently, Corendon Airlines cancelled all planned flights to Antalya, leaving the airport with no regular winter services until late January. The airport’s future has also been a subject of ongoing debate, with recent protests from climate activists.
