**New Delhi, December 6, 2024** – Punjab FC secured a commanding 2-0 win against Mohammedan Sporting Club in a thrilling Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday. Luka Majcen’s late goal and a strike from Filip Mrzljak secured the three points for the home side.

Despite a fast-paced first half with chances for both teams, neither side managed to break the deadlock. Mohammedan SC had a significant opportunity when Lalremsanga Fanai missed a clear chance, failing to connect with a pass from Alexis Gomez.

The second half saw Punjab FC take control. Majcen finally broke the stalemate in the 49th minute, capitalizing on a rebound to score his 13th goal of the season, making him Punjab FC’s top scorer. Mrzljak then added another goal in the 66th minute, securing the victory for Punjab FC. Mrzljak had earlier hit the post twice.

Mohammedan SC’s Bhaskar Roy, despite making several saves, couldn’t prevent the defeat. Punjab FC’s young goalkeeper, Muheet Shabir Khan, celebrated a clean sheet in his ISL debut. The win propels Punjab FC to third place in the ISL standings.
