**Kannur, Kerala – December 6, 2024** – Kerala is set to launch its first e-sports center in Thalassery during the first week of April, as announced today. The facility, a key initiative under the state’s sports policy, will provide a virtual space for individuals of all ages to participate in a variety of digital sports, eliminating the need for extensive physical infrastructure.
The center will offer immersive 3D gaming experiences, encompassing popular sports like football and basketball, as well as lesser-known games. This innovative approach aims to democratize access to sports, making them inclusive and accessible to a wider population.
The decision to establish the center was made during a meeting chaired by Speaker A.N. Shamseer and Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman, where the Sports department’s projects were reviewed.
