Sat Dec 07 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Braces for Cold Snap and Light Rain After Unusually Warm December

**New Delhi, India** – After an unusually warm December, Delhiites are finally set to experience a drop in temperature and light rainfall, according to the Delhi Meteorological Center. The minimum temperature is predicted to plummet below 7°C starting December 6th, with lows of 8-9°C expected in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurgaon – the coldest temperatures of the season so far. Daytime highs will remain relatively moderate, around 24-25°C.

The arrival of a western disturbance is expected to bring light rain to the National Capital Region (NCR) on December 8th. This rainfall, combined with winds of 8-12 km/h, will further intensify the cold, making nights particularly chilly. While daytime temperatures will be mild, the combination of rain, wind, and cloud cover is expected to cause a significant drop in night-time temperatures.

Meteorologists anticipate that the rain will be accompanied by light fog and lingering smog throughout the following week, exacerbating the cold conditions and creating a significantly colder feel across the NCR. After a prolonged period of warmer-than-average temperatures, this change in weather brings a welcome relief and the anticipated onset of winter in the Delhi-NCR region.
