**Kunnamkulam, December 4, 2024:** A glittering 117.5-gram gold trophy, the prize for the winner of the Thrissur Revenue District Kalolsavam (school arts festival), received a grand welcome at the festival venue in Kunnamkulam today. The trophy, previously kept in the district treasury, was received by District Education Deputy Director A.K. Ajitha Kumari, Trophy Committee Chairman K.K. Murali, and Convener M.K. Athikha Beevi from Collector Arjun Pandya. Several dignitaries, including Snehapurvam Trust Chairman T.N. Prathapan, and local MLAs and officials, were present for the ceremony. The trophy was displayed at the school auditorium before being moved to the Kunnamkulam treasury for safekeeping, only to be brought back for the festival’s closing ceremony on Saturday. The trophy was also displayed at Puthanattukara Durga Vilasam HSS and Kunnamkulam Bethany HSS.

The gold trophy, first introduced at the 2014 Malappuram Revenue District Kalolsavam by the Snehapurvam Charitable Trust (headed by then-MLA T.N. Prathapan), has been a tradition since 1986 at the state-level festival. A wooden replica will be awarded to the winner, with the original gold trophy returned to the district treasury afterward.
