**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, December 5, 2024** – A criminal case has been filed against the management of Tagore Pharma Laboratories Private Limited in Pharma City, Visakhapatnam, following a deadly gas leak at their factory last week. The incident resulted in the deaths of two workers and hospitalized over 30 others with serious illnesses.
Parwada Circle Inspector G. Mallikarjuna Rao confirmed the filing of the case, stating that the company’s negligence contributed to the severity of the accident. Charges include negligence, endangering human life, and concealing the accident from authorities. The case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 106(1), 125(a), 125(b), 239, and 286 read with 3(5).
Eleven workers remain hospitalized, but are expected to be discharged within two to three days, according to the Circle Inspector. The investigation continues.
