**Mumbai, India –** Devendra Fadnavis has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for a third term following a resounding victory for the Mahayuti alliance in the 2024 Assembly Elections. The BJP-led coalition, which includes Eknath Shinde’s faction of the Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), secured a commanding 230 out of 288 seats. The BJP won 132 seats, Shiv Sena 57, and NCP 41.
The swearing-in ceremony, held Thursday evening, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and numerous dignitaries. Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were also sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers. The Mahayuti’s decisive win marks a significant political shift in the state.
