**New Delhi, December 6, 2024** – The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has been awarded the International Social Security Association’s (ISSA) ‘Good Practice Award’ for Asia and Pacific for 2024. The award recognizes the EPFO’s outstanding performance in five key areas: efficient communication channels, e-proceedings, the outreach program ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat’, multilingual call centres, and the pension order delivery initiative ‘Prayaas’.

The ISSA president, Dr. Mohammed Azman, presented the award at the Regional Social Security Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The EPFO’s success stems from its multi-pronged communication strategy, utilizing webinars, SMS, email, social media, and information education communication (IEC) videos to engage stakeholders. The ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat’ program, which includes monthly meetings to address grievances, has also been instrumental in improving service delivery.

The EPFO’s efficient e-proceedings system, streamlining the process for determining dues from defaulting employers, was cited for enhancing transparency and fairness. The multilingual call centres, providing service in 12 regional languages, further contribute to the organization’s accessibility and efficiency. The ‘Prayaas’ initiative, ensuring timely delivery of pension payment orders to retirees, rounds out the award-winning services.

The Union Labour Ministry lauded the EPFO’s commitment to digital and non-digital communication strategies, emphasizing their role in promoting ease of doing business and ease of living. The award underscores India’s progress in social security and the EPFO’s dedication to improving its services for its members.
