**New Delhi, December 5** – A 20-year-old Delhi University student, Arjun Kumar, has been arrested for the brutal stabbing murders of his father Rajesh Kumar (51), mother Komal Kumar (46), and sister Kavita Kumar (23). The bodies were discovered on December 4th, the couple’s wedding anniversary, at their Neb Sarai home.
Arjun initially reported the crime to police, claiming he discovered his family dead upon returning from a morning walk. However, inconsistencies in his statement led investigators to suspect his involvement. Police found no signs of forced entry or robbery, eliminating those theories.
Under interrogation, Arjun confessed to the murders. He revealed a simmering resentment towards his family, fueled by his father’s strict discipline and a perceived lack of support. A recent public scolding by his father proved to be the catalyst, leading to a deeply felt humiliation. Further fueling his anger was the recent knowledge that his father planned to bequeath property to his sister.
On the morning of his parents’ anniversary, Arjun, a trained state-level boxer, armed himself with a knife (reportedly his father’s army knife) and stabbed his sister, father, and mother while they slept. He then staged the scene and went for a walk to establish an alibi.
