**Hyderabad, December 3, 2024** – Mumbai secured their fourth victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, defeating Services by a convincing 39 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Chasing a challenging 193, Services were bowled out for 153 in 19.3 overs.

Mumbai’s strong batting performance was spearheaded by Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 71 off 37 balls and Suryakumar Yadav’s impressive 70 off 46. Captain Ajinkya Rahane also contributed a quick 22 off 18 balls.

Shardul Thakur led the Mumbai bowling attack, claiming four wickets, while Shams Mulani took three. Mohit Avasthi and Shivam Dube chipped in with a wicket each. Services’ captain Mohit Ahlawat top-scored with 54 runs, but his efforts were not enough to prevent the defeat. Vikas Hathwal (22) and Mohit Rati (20) also offered some resistance.

Suryakumar Yadav’s performance further solidified his place in Indian T20 cricket history. His four sixes in this match propelled him into a tie with MS Dhoni for the third-highest number of sixes in Indian T20 cricket, with 338 each. He achieved this milestone with fewer innings played than Dhoni. This achievement comes just days after Kerala captain Sanju Samson also reached 338 sixes, but Yadav’s Hyderabad display put him ahead.

Mumbai now has 16 points from five matches, four wins and one loss, and currently sits at the top of the table, neck and neck with Kerala who also have 16 points. Their next match is against undefeated Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad on December 5th.
