**Sriharikota, December 4, 2024:** The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has postponed the launch of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) PROBA-3 satellite, originally scheduled for Wednesday evening. The launch, using the PSLV-C59 rocket, was delayed due to an anomaly detected in the spacecraft.

The launch is now rescheduled for Thursday at 4:12 PM IST. PROBA-3, a twin-satellite mission, aims to create an artificial solar eclipse in space to facilitate deeper study of the sun. This is a commercial launch undertaken by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), ISRO’s commercial arm, at a cost of ₹1680 crore. The mission will deploy two 550 kg satellites into a 60,000 km orbit.
