Wed Dec 04 17:12:23 UTC 2024: ## Honda Launches Updated Amaze Compact Sedan with ADAS, Priced at ₹7.99 Lakh
**New Delhi, India –** Honda has officially launched the 2024 Amaze facelift in India, marking a significant update to its popular compact sedan. The new model boasts a radical redesign, enhanced features, and importantly, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), making it the most affordable car in India to offer this safety technology.
The Amaze, priced starting at ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), will be available in three variants (V, VX, and ZX) and six colors. Powering the vehicle is a familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine generating 90 PS, paired with either a manual or CVT gearbox. Fuel efficiency is rated at 18.65 kmpl for the manual and 19.46 kmpl for the CVT.
Key features include a redesigned exterior inspired by the City and Elevate models, a new interior with a floating infotainment system and dual-tone finish, six airbags (standard), a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment system, lane watch camera, and the aforementioned ADAS suite.
The launch positions the Amaze directly against rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire (recently updated), Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor. While the Tigor offers a unique selling proposition with petrol, CNG, and electric powertrain options, the Amaze aims to stand out with its ADAS inclusion and competitive pricing, despite a slightly higher starting price compared to the Dzire. Honda emphasized its commitment to the internal combustion engine (ICE) market in India, while also acknowledging future exploration of hybrid and electric vehicles. Since its 2013 launch, the Amaze has achieved sales of 5.8 lakh units. The new model goes on sale immediately.
