Wed Dec 04 00:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Karnataka High Court Grants 90-Day Parole to Murder Convict for Agricultural Work

**Bengaluru, December 3, 2024** – The Karnataka High Court has granted a 90-day parole to a 36-year-old murder convict, Chandra, to allow him to manage his family’s agricultural land. The court cited the absence of other male family members capable of handling the farm’s responsibilities as the reason for granting the parole.

Chandra, a resident of Sididevarahalli in Ramanagara district, had been imprisoned for 11 years without previously utilizing parole. His request for parole was initially denied by prison authorities in September, prompting him to appeal to the High Court.

Justice Hemant Chandangoudar approved the parole, stipulating that Chandra must refrain from any unlawful activities during this period. He is also required to report to the local police station weekly. The court retained the authority to impose additional conditions and warned that any violation would result in immediate parole revocation.
