**NEW DELHI** – India celebrated Navy Day on December 4th, commemorating the resounding victory of the Indian Navy during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The day marks the anniversary of Operation Trident, a daring night raid on Karachi harbor on December 3rd, 1971, where Indian naval forces inflicted significant damage on Pakistani ships and oil tankers. The attack, involving missile boats and warships, resulted in a devastating fire at the Karachi fuel depot that raged for seven days and was visible from 60 kilometers away.
