**Mumbai, November 28:** Jammu & Kashmir recorded a historic victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, defeating Arunachal Pradesh by a massive margin on Tuesday. Arunachal Pradesh, batting first, were bowled out for a paltry 32 runs in 9.1 overs, setting a new tournament record for second-lowest total. This surpasses Tripura’s 30 all out in 2009.
The collapse was largely due to the devastating spell of left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq, who took 4 wickets for just 2 runs in a breathtaking 7-ball spell. His performance, comprising just 1.1 overs, helped bowl out Arunachal Pradesh in a mere 9.1 overs. Other significant contributions came from Rasik Salam (1 wicket), Aqib Nabi (3 wickets), and Yudveer Singh (2 wickets) for Jammu & Kashmir. No Arunachal batsman managed to score more than 5 runs.
Jammu & Kashmir chased down the meager target of 33 runs in just 18 balls, winning by 102 balls to spare. This victory represents the largest margin of victory in the tournament’s history, surpassing Jharkhand’s win over Tripura by 100 balls in 2009. Kamran Iqbal (10 runs) and Yudveer Singh (21 runs) guided Jammu & Kashmir to victory with ease.
The match, played at the Shard Pawar Cricket Academy BKC Stadium in Mumbai, will be remembered for Arunachal Pradesh’s humiliating defeat and Jammu & Kashmir’s record-breaking win.
