**Vijayawada, December 3, 2024** – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana held their first joint meeting on Monday to address 15 outstanding issues stemming from the states’ 2014 bifurcation. The meeting, held in Mangalagiri, was led by the Chief Secretaries of both states, Neerabh Kumar Prasad (AP) and A. Santhi Kumari (Telangana).

The discussions follow earlier talks between Chief Ministers N. Chandrababu Naidu (AP) and A. Revanth Reddy (Telangana) in July 2024. While significant progress was made, with consensus reached on several matters, some issues require further deliberation. The committee tasked relevant departments from both states with reconciling data before the next meeting.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from both governments, including Principal Secretaries to the Chief Ministers and Finance Secretaries. The committee emphasized the urgency of resolving these long-standing issues, acknowledging the ten years that have passed since the states’ separation.
