**Kannur, Kerala:** P.P. Naseema Teacher (50), former president of the Ajanoor Grama Panchayat and state treasurer of the Women’s League, passed away Thursday morning at a hospital in Kozhikode following an illness. A resident of Kolavayal, Kannur, she was also the state chairperson of the Kerala Arabic Teachers Federation (KATF) and had served as a teacher at the Kanhangad Iqbal Higher Secondary School.
Naseema Teacher, who previously served as the Kasaragod district president of the Women’s League, was a prominent figure within the Muslim League. She was elected as the state treasurer of the Women’s League last year. Leading Muslim League figures have expressed their condolences following her death.
She is survived by her husband, Muhammed Kunji; sons Mansoor and Nasri; son-in-law Noushad; and siblings Abdul Salam, Abdul Nazar, Basheer, Mariyam, Safiya, Nafisa, Maimoona, and Fousiya. Her brother, Kunjabdulla, predeceased her.
