Tue Dec 03 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## YSRCP Leader Accused of Harassment, Extortion, and Attempted Murder in Guntur

**Guntur, December 3, 2024** – A woman in Guntur has filed a complaint against a YSRCP leader, Deverakonda Nageswararao, alleging harassment, extortion, and attempted murder. The woman, who runs a small clothing shop with her husband, claims Nageswararao began harassing her two years ago, using threats and blackmail to extort money and force sexual relations.

According to the complaint filed with the Guntur District SP’s office, Nageswararao initially befriended the woman and subsequently took nude photos and videos of her without her consent. He then used this material to blackmail her into paying him ₹4,000 daily for the past two years. He also allegedly attempted to murder her husband twice, in December last year and April this year, because he considered him an obstacle.

The harassment escalated last month when Nageswararao physically assaulted the woman after she failed to provide the daily payment. This incident prompted her to reveal everything to her husband, leading them to file a complaint at the Nagarampalem police station on November 23rd. However, claiming inaction from the police, the couple approached the SP’s office on Monday, fearing for their lives due to continued threats from Nageswararao.

The SP’s office has acknowledged the complaint and directed the Nagarampalem CI to take appropriate action against Nageswararao according to the law. The case has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the alleged abuse of power by a ruling party leader. Investigations are underway.
