**Damoh, Madhya Pradesh:** The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a significant boost for Anganwadi workers in Damoh district. All 254 mini Anganwadi workers have been promoted to main Anganwadi workers, with their salaries doubling from ₹6,700 to ₹13,100. This move is expected to improve the economic conditions of these workers and enhance their job satisfaction.

Furthermore, the government will also introduce helper positions at mini Anganwadi centers. Unlike previous local recruitment processes, this hiring will be entirely online through a state portal, with recruitment expected to begin in the first week of December. The addition of helpers is aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the centers.

The government believes these changes will not only improve the financial well-being of Anganwadi workers but will also strengthen services for women and children in rural areas, particularly in nutrition and education. The initiative is seen as a major step towards women’s empowerment and rural development. Other news from across India included a woman marrying twice in two months, political sparring over the RSS, and reports of crime and accidents.
