Sun Dec 01 20:46:05 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Cruises to Easy Victory Over Zimbabwe in Series Opener

**HARARE, ZIMBABWE** – Pakistan secured a comfortable victory over Zimbabwe in the first T20I of their three-match series today, winning by a significant margin. After a strong start by Zimbabwe’s openers, a collapse saw them crumble from 77/2 to 108 all out.

Pakistan’s bowlers, particularly Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf, were instrumental in the Zimbabwean downfall, sharing eight wickets between them. The Zimbabwean batting order failed to recover after the crucial run-out of Marumani, succumbing to a series of wickets in quick succession. The late innings saw a flurry of wickets, leaving Zimbabwe far short of their target.

Pakistan captain Salman Agha praised his team’s complete performance, highlighting both their batting and bowling efforts. He specifically lauded the performance of the younger players. Player of the Match Tayyab Tahir described his strategic approach with his partner, focusing on aggressive batting to achieve a target around 160-170 runs.

Zimbabwean captain Sikandar Raza acknowledged the disappointing batting collapse, noting the team’s struggles against the older ball and the significant loss of momentum after conceding over 40 runs in the final three overs. Raza expressed confidence in the team’s ability to learn from their mistakes and improve in the upcoming matches. He also addressed his ongoing hamstring concerns, mentioning a fitness test scheduled for tomorrow.

The series continues on December 3rd.
