**Ranchi, December 1, 2024** – The effects of Cyclone Fengal are being felt in Jharkhand, with cloudy skies and fog reported across the state since Sunday. The inclement weather led to the cancellation of a Chennai-Ranchi flight.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts cloudy conditions with light rain or drizzle in several districts, including East and West Singhbhum, Saraikela, Simdega, and Ranchi, for the next three days. The impact of the cyclone is expected to last until December 3rd, potentially causing a dip in daytime temperatures and a rise in nighttime temperatures, leading to increased cold.
IMD Director Abhishek Anand stated that Fengal’s coverage area has expanded, resulting in light rain in southern Jharkhand and drizzle in central areas. The IMD has advised residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. The cyclone’s effects are predicted to subside by December 5th.
