**New Delhi, November 24, 2024** – Maruti Suzuki’s newly launched Dzire sedan is creating a stir, with its price range (Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh, ex-showroom) overlapping significantly with that of its sub-4m SUV sibling, the Brezza. This leaves consumers pondering which vehicle best suits their needs. A closer comparison reveals key differences that could sway the decision.
While both vehicles fall under the 4-meter category for government subsidies, the Brezza boasts a larger footprint: 55mm wider, 160mm taller, with a 50mm longer wheelbase and 35mm higher ground clearance. However, the Dzire compensates with a substantially larger 54-liter boot.
Under the hood, the Dzire packs a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine generating 82 hp and 112 Nm, while its CNG variant produces 70 hp and 102 Nm. Fuel efficiency is impressive, reaching up to 25.71 kmpl (petrol) and 33.73 km/kg (CNG). The Brezza offers more power and torque, but its higher weight may negate this advantage in real-world performance. Fuel efficiency is lower than the Dzire’s, but the Brezza offers a more advanced 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Both cars are generously equipped. The top-spec Dzire boasts features like a sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree parking camera, and comprehensive safety features including six airbags, ESP, and hill-hold assist. The Brezza offers similar features but adds a head-up display and paddle shifters, albeit at a premium price.
The price difference is substantial. The entry-level Dzire is Rs 1.55 lakh cheaper, while the top-end Brezza commands a Rs 4 lakh premium. Consumers prioritizing ground clearance might opt for the Brezza, but those seeking a balance of features, fuel efficiency, and affordability will find the Dzire a compelling choice.
