Mon Dec 02 00:08:02 UTC 2024: ## Khawzawl Celebrates World AIDS Day with Aid and Awareness Initiatives

**Khawzawl, December 1, 2024** – The Khawzawl District Aids Prevention and Control Committee, led by Pu Suvigya S. Chandra, IAS, SDO (Sadar), marked World AIDS Day today with a distribution of essential supplies to two orphanages in Khawzawl. Food items including potatoes, dal, and Nutrela, along with cash, were provided to residents of the Zuchhip orphanage and the Grace Camping Center near Khawzawl JNV School.

Further highlighting this year’s World AIDS Day theme, “Take the Rights Path,” the committee is organizing a training session on the HIV Act 2017. This session, scheduled for December 4th at the Khawzawl District Hospital meeting hall, aims to educate hospital staff, including doctors and nurses, on combating the spread of HIV and ensuring appropriate care and support for those living with the virus. The initiative seeks to improve the treatment and reduce stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS in the district.
