**Jaipur, [Date]:** In a significant development for Jaipur’s public transportation, the central government has approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the second phase of the Jaipur Metro. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has also agreed to fully fund the DPR’s preparation, estimated at ₹4.69 crore.

The proposal, submitted by the Jaipur Metro team in mid-August, received approval in a remarkably short timeframe of just three and a half months. This is significantly faster than the average 5-6 months typically taken for similar projects in other cities.

The swift approval is credited to the collaborative efforts of Vaibhav Galria, CMD of Jaipur Metro and Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department (UDH), who effectively coordinated efforts at both levels. The DPR will update plans for the second phase, explore potential new routes, and prepare feasibility reports for viable routes.
