Fri Nov 29 16:51:01 UTC 2024: ## Tamil Nadu’s AYUSH Infrastructure Expansion Detailed in Parliament

**CHENNAI, November 29, 2024** – The status of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homeopathy (AYUSH) infrastructure in Tamil Nadu was detailed in Parliament today. Lok Sabha Member C. Robert Bruce’s query regarding AYUSH hospitals and colleges elicited a response from Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav.

Jadhav revealed that Tamil Nadu currently operates 35 AYUSH hospitals and seven government colleges. Under the National Ayush Mission (NAM), the state has received ₹699.40 lakh for renovating 17 hospitals and ₹590.64 lakh for upgrading six colleges.

Furthermore, the central government has approved the establishment of five new integrated AYUSH hospitals in Theni, Thiruvannamalai, Pudukottai, Namakkal, and Chennai, along with new AYUSH educational institutions in Palani and Dindigul districts. These projects are based on proposals submitted by the Tamil Nadu government.
