BHUBANESWAR, Odisha – Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Odisha on a three-day visit beginning November 29th, 2024, to attend the All India DGP/IGP Conference. The conference, scheduled from November 29th to December 1st, will focus on enhancing India’s internal security apparatus.

Ahead of his arrival, Prime Minister Modi announced on X that the conference will involve extensive discussions on various aspects of policing and public safety, including counter-terrorism, Left Wing Extremism, coastal security, and new criminal laws. The conference will also feature unique additions such as yoga sessions, business sessions, and thematic dining tables to foster collaboration and discussion.

Schools within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation jurisdiction will be closed at 1 PM on Friday, November 29th, to accommodate traffic arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit. PM Modi is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport at approximately 4:20 PM and will participate in a felicitation program before attending a BJP party meeting.

The conference will bring together senior police officials, security administrators, the Principal Secretary to the PM, the National Security Adviser, Ministers of State (Home Affairs), and DGPs from all states and Union Territories. Participants will have the opportunity to present their perspectives and suggestions to the Prime Minister on critical policing and internal security matters.
