Wed Nov 27 21:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Dayton Flyers Women’s Track and Field Unveils Ambitious Indoor Schedule
**DAYTON, OH** – The University of Dayton women’s track and field team announced a jam-packed indoor schedule for the 2024-25 season, culminating in the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships. This season marks a historic milestone for the Flyers, as they will host their first-ever indoor meet, the Gem City Invitational.
The schedule features eleven events, ten of which will be away meets designed to provide the team with experience on various banked tracks. Head Coach Aaron Gordon highlighted the benefits of this approach, stating that the schedule will “set us up for the A-10 Championships.” The Gem City Invitational, scheduled for February 8th at Wittenberg University, will showcase a diverse field of competitors from the MAC, Big East, and Horizon Leagues. Assistant Coach Kevin Gilhuly emphasized the program’s high expectations and excitement to host the competitive home meet.
The season kicks off with smaller meets in December at Findlay and Wittenberg, before expanding to larger events in January and February at Bowling Green, Ann Arbor, Indiana University, Louisville, and the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis. The Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State will serve as a final tune-up before the A-10 Championships.
The Flyers will look to build on last year’s successes at the A-10 Championships in Virginia Beach (February 28th-March 1st), where Jadyn Haywood earned runner-up in the 200m and third in the 60m, and Rebekah Conrad placed fourth in the weight throw. Both athletes return this season.
