Wed Nov 27 17:55:17 UTC 2024: ## Air India Pilot’s Death Ruled Suicide; Boyfriend Arrested for Abetment

**Mumbai, India –** A 25-year-old Air India pilot, Srishti Tuli, was found dead in her Mumbai apartment on Monday in what police are investigating as a suicide. Her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit (27), has been arrested on charges of abetment to suicide.

Tuli’s body was discovered in her Andheri flat, where she had allegedly hanged herself using a data cable. No suicide note was found at the scene. However, according to a complaint filed by Tuli’s uncle, Pandit allegedly subjected her to harassment and humiliation, including pressure to alter her diet and stop eating non-vegetarian food.

Early Monday morning, Tuli reportedly called Pandit, who was traveling to Delhi, informing him of her intention to end her life. Upon learning this, Pandit rushed back to Mumbai, but found the apartment locked. He then called a locksmith, gained entry, and discovered Tuli hanging. She was pronounced dead at SevenHills Hospital.

Pandit was apprehended on Tuesday and charged under section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He appeared in court and was remanded to police custody until November 29. Tuli, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh, had been residing in Mumbai since June 2022 and had met Pandit while undertaking a commercial pilot training course in Delhi two years prior.
