**Mumbai, India** – Mahindra & Mahindra has officially launched its highly anticipated BE 6e electric SUV, marking a significant step in the automaker’s ambitious foray into the EV market. The BE 6e, priced at ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), is the first model under the company’s new BE sub-brand, alongside the XEV 9e. Both SUVs leverage Mahindra’s innovative INGLO platform.
The BE 6e boasts a striking, contemporary design featuring aggressive lines, large 20-inch aerodynamic wheels, and a distinctive front fascia with J-shaped daytime running lights and a prominent hood scoop. Its sleek silhouette incorporates flush door handles and C-shaped taillights connected by a light bar. The SUV offers a spacious 455L boot and an additional 45L of storage in the “frunk.”
Inside, the BE 6e features a driver-focused cabin with a two-spoke steering wheel, a dual-screen setup (digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen), and an illuminated “infinity roof.” Luxury amenities include ventilated seats, wireless charging, an air purifier, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, and a facial recognition system. Safety is paramount, with Level 2+ ADAS features (five radars and one camera), a Secure 360 system for remote vehicle monitoring, and autonomous parking capabilities.
Powering the BE 6e is a 79 kWh battery pack offering an impressive ARAI-certified range of 682 km on a single charge. A 175 kW DC fast charger can replenish the battery from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. Mahindra is providing a lifetime warranty on the battery pack (excluding commercially registered vehicles). A 59 kWh battery option with a 231 hp motor is also available. The 79 kWh variant produces 281 hp and 380 Nm of torque, enabling 0-100 kmph acceleration in 6.7 seconds. Multiple drive modes (Range, Everyday, and Race) cater to diverse driving styles.
The launch of the BE 6e signals Mahindra’s commitment to electric mobility and its confidence in the INGLO platform, which offers a semi-active suspension for a smooth ride, improved steering, and enhanced braking. The company believes this vehicle represents a strong contender in the growing Indian electric SUV market.
