Wed Nov 27 03:54:05 UTC 2024: ## Ireland Women’s Cricket Star Ready for Bangladesh Challenge

**MIRPUR, Bangladesh** – Ireland Women’s vice-captain Orla Prendergast is brimming with confidence as her team prepares to face Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series starting Wednesday. The 22-year-old, already a veteran with 85 caps since her 2019 debut, spoke of her excitement ahead of the series, calling her cricket journey “a bit of a dream.”

Prendergast’s recent success includes a stellar home season culminating in victories against England and Sri Lanka, followed by a stint in the Australian Big Bash League (WBBL) playing for the Adelaide Strikers. She described the WBBL experience as “challenging but extremely enjoyable,” highlighting the opportunity to develop her skills in a new role.

Looking ahead to the Bangladesh series, Prendergast acknowledged the hosts’ strengths, particularly their spin bowling attack. However, she emphasized Ireland’s focus on their own game and the team’s significant growth over the past year. “We know how well we’ve played…we’ve really come on as a team and grown together,” she stated.

The series, part of the ICC Women’s Championship, will be live-streamed on the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s YouTube channel from November 27th to December 9th. All eyes are on this exciting clash between two ambitious teams.
