**Narayanpet, Telangana –** At least 22 students from a government school in Telangana’s Narayanpet district were hospitalized on Tuesday after experiencing headaches, stomach aches, and vomiting. The incident occurred following the consumption of a mid-day meal at the Zilla Parishad High School in Maganoor. While over 400 students ate the meal, only 22 exhibited symptoms, beginning around 3:30 PM.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the illness, exploring the possibility that the mid-day meal was responsible. However, officials also note that the affected students had consumed snacks from local bakeries and shops earlier in the day. Samples from both the mid-day meal and the outside snacks have been collected for laboratory testing.
One student reported undercooked potatoes and brinjal in the meal, while another complained of stomach pain. Doctors treated the students, who have since been discharged and are reported to be in stable condition.
This is the second such incident at the school this month. On November 20th, 17 students were hospitalized after consuming a mid-day meal. District authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the source of the illness.
