Tue Nov 26 18:15:39 UTC 2024: ## Mahindra Unveils Two New Electric SUVs in India

**Mumbai, India** – Mahindra & Mahindra today launched two new electric SUVs, the XUV.e9 and the BE.05 (renamed BE.6e), marking a significant step in the company’s electric vehicle strategy. Both SUVs are built on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform, developed in collaboration with Volkswagen. This modular platform boasts several advanced features, including semi-active suspension, brake-by-wire technology, and an updated electric power steering system. The platform also utilizes a flat-skateboard layout to optimize cabin space.

**Mahindra XUV.e9:** Positioned as the electric version of the XUV700 with a coupe-style body, the XUV.e9 features redesigned headlights, a new bumper, and a blanked-off grille with an LED light bar. It also boasts aero-optimized dual-tone alloy wheels and heavily flared wheel arches with gloss-black cladding. The rear mirrors the front design with a similar LED light bar.

Powertrain details remain officially undisclosed, but Mahindra is expected to offer two battery pack options: 59kWh and 79kWh. While both will support a single-motor configuration, a dual-motor setup is anticipated for the larger 79kWh battery. Power output is projected to range from 228bhp to 281bhp. A 175kW DC fast charger can reportedly charge the battery from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.

The interior features a triple-screen setup including a touchscreen infotainment system, instrument cluster, and a passenger display. Additional amenities include a new two-spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, updated seats and upholstery, a rotary dial gear selector, dual-zone climate control, and an auto-dimming IRVM. Advanced features like a Dolby Atmos-enabled 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 5G connectivity, Level 2 ADAS with five radars, and a segment-first patterned panoramic sunroof are also included.

**Mahindra BE.6e:** The production version of the BE.05 concept, the BE.6e boasts aggressive styling with contoured surfaces, a closed-off front grille, full-width C-shaped LED DRLs surrounding the LED headlights, and new logos. Similar to the XUV.e9, it features flared wheel arches with gloss-black cladding and aero-optimized alloy wheels.

The BE.6e also offers the same battery and motor options as the XUV.e9 (59kWh and 79kWh batteries with single or dual motor configurations). Power output is expected to be in the same 228bhp to 281bhp range. Mahindra highlights a compact three-in-one powertrain integrating the motor, inverter, and transmission. It also shares the 20-minute 20%-80% fast charging capability. The interior features a cockpit-inspired layout with dual floating infotainment screens, a dual-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo, and a host of comfort features.

Pricing for both models will be announced soon, with estimates ranging from ₹20-30 lakh for the BE.6e and ₹30-35 lakh for the XUV.e9.
