**Doha, November 25, 2024** – Motorists in Qatar have until November 30th to take advantage of a 50% discount on outstanding traffic fines. The amnesty, announced by the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Traffic on June 1st, was initially set to expire in August but was extended. The offer applies to fines accrued over the past three years for violations committed by Qatari citizens, residents, visitors, and those from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The amnesty was introduced following the implementation of new traffic regulations on September 1st, which included a stipulation that individuals with outstanding fines would be prohibited from leaving the country. Taking advantage of the discount before the deadline allows individuals to avoid this restriction. Those wishing to benefit from the 50% reduction must settle their fines before November 30th.
