**Dehradun, Uttarakhand –** BJP candidate Asha Nautiyal is currently leading in the Kedarnath Assembly by-election in Uttarakhand, according to the latest updates from the counting center. With the second round of counting complete, Ms. Nautiyal holds a significant lead of 1,005 votes over her Congress rival, Manoj Rawat. Independent candidate Tribhuvan Singh is in third place.
The by-election, held on November 20th, was necessitated by the death of BJP MLA Shaila Rani Rawat in July. Counting began at 8 a.m. under tight security in Kedarnath. This story will be updated as further results are released.
