Fri Nov 22 16:36:57 UTC 2024: ## Three Dead in Namakkal Bus-Truck Collision
**Namakkal, Tamil Nadu –** A head-on collision between a private bus and a lorry in Namakkal district on Friday evening resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to over ten others. The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the Koraiyaru bridge in Mettala.
The private bus, carrying more than 30 passengers, was traveling from Attur in Salem district to Rasipuram in Namakkal district when it collided with an oncoming lorry. The bus and lorry drivers, and a female passenger, died at the scene. Injured passengers were rushed to Rasipuram Government Hospital, with two reportedly in critical condition. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
Namagiripettai police are investigating the cause of the accident. Namakkal District Collector S. Uma visited the injured at the hospital.
