**Killeen, TX** – A 25-year-old Texas mother, Reese Louise Myers, has been arrested and charged with abandoning and endangering a child after allegedly leaving her 16-month-old toddler alone and covered in feces while she traveled 400 miles to meet a man she connected with on the dating app Hinge.

The incident occurred in July. Police responded to a welfare check after a witness reported seeing the child near a broken window, seemingly unattended. Upon arriving at the apartment, officers found the child partially clothed, with feces on their skin and signs of diaper rash. Two dogs were also present in the apartment.

Myers admitted to traveling to San Antonio the previous day to meet a man she met on Hinge. She claimed to have left the child in the care of a babysitter, a claim police investigated and found to be false, with the last contact between Myers and the alleged babysitter occurring in December 2023.

After a medical assessment, Child Protective Services took custody of the child. Myers was arrested in California on November 5th on a fugitive warrant and subsequently extradited to Texas. She is currently being held in Bell County Jail.
