**Mumbai, November 23, 2024** – The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), has secured a resounding victory in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, winning over 223 seats and crossing the majority mark of 145. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), consisting of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), secured approximately 55 seats.

Early trends indicated a significant lead for Mahayuti, with celebrations erupting across the state as results trickled in. Prominent BJP leaders like Devendra Fadnavis and Kirit Somaiya attributed the victory to public support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and rejection of what they termed “land jihad, love jihad, and vote jihad.” BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Mahayuti leaders, crediting their strong campaign for the win.

While the final allocation of ministerial portfolios remains pending, Devendra Fadnavis is widely expected to become Chief Minister again. His mother, Sarita Tai Fadnavis, expressed confidence in his appointment, and he received congratulatory calls from Home Minister Amit Shah. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared the victory a landslide and thanked the voters and party workers.

Notable individual results include Aaditya Thackeray trailing in Worli, initially leading but ultimately losing his seat. In contrast, Ajit Pawar maintained a strong lead in Baramati. Other key figures saw varied success, including BJP’s Ashish Shelar leading in Bandra West and Congress leader Supriya Shrinate expressing disappointment with the Congress’s performance in the state.

The BJP alone is estimated to have secured over 118 seats, with Shiv Sena (Shinde) securing approximately 56, and the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP securing around 37. The high voter turnout and the Mahayuti’s decisive win mark a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.
