Sat Nov 23 09:00:00 UTC 2024: ## MNS Suffers Crushing Defeat in Maharashtra Assembly Elections; Raj Thackeray Responds with Concise Statement
**Mumbai, November 23, 2024** – The Maharashtra Assembly election results have delivered a resounding victory for the Mahayuati coalition, leaving the Maha Vikas Aghadi significantly weakened. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which contested the election with considerable effort, suffered a catastrophic defeat, failing to win a single seat.
MNS chief Raj Thackeray reacted to the party’s poor performance with a succinct statement on social media: “Unbelievable! That’s all for now…”
The party’s campaign, which included numerous rallies led by Raj Thackeray and the candidacy of his nephew, Amit Thackeray, in Mahim constituency, proved unsuccessful. Amit Thackeray finished third, receiving 33,062 votes, while the party’s sole sitting MLA, Raju Patil, also lost his seat. All other MNS candidates faced similar defeats.
Amit Thackeray, in a Facebook post following his loss, acknowledged the outcome and stated his commitment to continued service to the people of Mahim and Maharashtra. He attributed the defeat to perhaps a disconnect with the electorate’s aspirations, emphasizing his dedication to serving the community and working towards their betterment. He reiterated his commitment to working for the development of Mahim, Dadar, Prabhadevi, and the entire state.
The results mark a significant setback for the MNS, highlighting the challenges faced by the party in the current political landscape.
