Fri Nov 22 10:20:52 UTC 2024: ## Former Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Declares World War III Has Begun

**Kyiv, Ukraine** – Former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, has declared that World War III has begun. Speaking at the Ukrainska Pravda’s UP100 award ceremony, Zaluzhny, now Ukraine’s envoy to the UK, cited the direct involvement of Russia’s allies as evidence. He pointed specifically to the presence of North Korean soldiers on the front lines and the widespread use of Iranian-made Shahed drones, arguing these actions demonstrate a global escalation of the conflict.

Zaluzhny expressed concern over the influx of Chinese weapons and the reported deployment of over 10,000 North Korean troops to the Kursk region, urging Ukraine’s allies to take decisive action to prevent further expansion of the war. He warned that while Ukraine can survive with technological support, victory is uncertain without greater international intervention. “It is still possible to stop it here, on the territory of Ukraine,” he stated, adding, “But for some reason, our partners do not want to understand this. It is obvious that Ukraine already has too many enemies.”

His comments follow a reported Russian attack on Dnipro using a hypersonic ballistic missile, an escalation condemned by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a “clear and severe escalation in the scale and brutality of this war.”

Zaluzhny’s statement carries significant weight despite his dismissal earlier this year following reported tensions with President Zelensky. He remains a prominent figure in Ukrainian military and political circles, widely credited for repelling Russia’s initial invasion in February 2022. His assessment adds to growing international concerns about the expanding scope and potential global ramifications of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
