BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The West Indies cricket team has announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, leaving out several key players. The series, starting November 22nd, will be played at home in the Caribbean.
Captain Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the team, with Joshua da Silva named as vice-captain. Notably absent from the squad are star spinner Gudakesh Motie and all-rounder Jason Holder, who is recovering from a shoulder injury. The squad does, however, welcome back Kevin Sinclair, who has recovered from injury and is deemed fit for selection.
The West Indies will be hoping to rebound after a recent whitewash defeat against England in a T20 series and a disappointing showing in the World Test Championship final. They face a Bangladesh team coming off a series loss to India, but eager to prove themselves in the Caribbean. The second Test of the series is scheduled for November 30th to December 4th.
The full squad is: Kraigg Brathwaite (capt), Joshua da Silva (vc), Alzarri Joseph, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Jomel Warrican, Tevin Imlach, Kasey Carter, Justin Greaves, Mikyle Louis, Kevin Sinclair, Anderson Phillip, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Shermar Joseph.
