**CHENNAI, November 22, 2024** – The 14th annual Trinity Arts Festival of India opened Thursday night at the Rasika Ranjani Sabha in Mylapore with a glittering awards ceremony. Lifetime achievement awards were presented to renowned violinist V.V. Subrahmanyam and Bharatanatyam dancer and guru Narthaki Nataraj. Bharatanatyam guru Sheela Unnikrishnan received the Bharata Kala Ratna award, and Carnatic vocalist Prince Rama Varma was honored with the Isai Perarasar award.

Industrialist N. Kumar, Chairman of the Sanmar Group, lauded the festival for providing a platform for young artists. He highlighted the similar opportunities offered to students at Sankara Schools. N. Ravi, Chairman of Kasturi & Sons, emphasized Chennai’s status as a global hub for music during the Margazhi season, hosting over 1,500 concerts annually. He praised Trinity Arts’ significant contribution to this rich cultural landscape, particularly its inclusion of non-resident Indian artists.

This year’s festival is dedicated to philanthropist Smt. Muthulakshmi (dance) and composer Maharaja Swathi Thirunal (music), according to convenor Murali Raghavan. R. Muthukumar, chairman of Trinity Arts, was also present at the ceremony.
