Thu Nov 21 22:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Norwegian Cruise Line Cancels Dozens of Winter Cruises
**Miami, FL –** Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced the cancellation of 38 voyages across three ships – the Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Dawn – impacting its winter 2025-2026 season. The cancellations affect sailings between November 2025 and April 2026, encompassing a variety of destinations including the Caribbean, South America, Antarctica, Africa, and Arabia.
The cruise line has not provided a reason for the cancellations but is automatically refunding fares to guests and offering a 10% discount on a future cruise. Affected itineraries included popular destinations such as Casablanca, Morocco; Willemstad, Curaçao; and Cape Town, South Africa.
The Norwegian Jewel, based in Tampa, Florida, will have all voyages between November 23, 2025, and April 5, 2026, cancelled. The Norwegian Star’s cancellations affect voyages between November 20, 2025 and April 14, 2026, including a planned Antarctica cruise. The Norwegian Dawn’s cancelled cruises run from November 2, 2025 to April 12, 2026 and include a lengthy Africa itinerary.
While NCL is allowing guests to rebook on other ships within the same timeframe, the cancellations represent a significant disruption for passengers who had anticipated these specific itineraries. The affected ships will resume their scheduled itineraries in late April and May of 2026, with the Norwegian Jewel shifting to Bermuda and Canada/New England cruises, the Norwegian Star sailing between Lisbon and the UK, and the Norwegian Dawn focusing on the Western Mediterranean.
