Fri Nov 22 00:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Nets Edge Hornets in Nail-Biting Finish, Snapping Three-Game Losing Streak

**NEW YORK (AP)** — Cam Johnson’s 34-point performance led the Brooklyn Nets to a thrilling 116-115 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Nets.

A last-second three-point attempt by Charlotte’s Brandon Miller, who finished with 29 points, fell short, sealing the victory for Brooklyn. Grant Williams tipped the ball away as time expired.

Dennis Schroder contributed a strong all-around game with 14 points and 12 assists for the Nets. Jalen Wilson (17 points) and Dorian Finney-Smith (15 points) also provided crucial scoring support. Trendon Watford’s clutch performance in the final two minutes, including two crucial free throws, added 10 points to the Nets’ total. Ben Simmons reached double figures for the first time this season, scoring 10 points.

The Hornets, despite a hot start fueled by strong performances from Miller, Miles Bridges (21 points), and Tre Mann (19 points), ultimately fell short in their fourth loss in five games. Charlotte enjoyed a dominant first quarter, shooting exceptionally well from both the field and beyond the arc.

The game remained close throughout, with a late controversial foul call on Watford impacting the final score. The Nets’ impressive ball movement resulted in 31 assists, marking their fourth game this season with 30 or more.

The Hornets will face the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, while the Nets embark on a four-game road trip starting Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
