**New Delhi, India** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the dates for the 2025 Class 10 and 12 board examinations, providing students with an unprecedented amount of preparation time. Exams will begin on February 15th, 2025, a full 86 days in advance of the exam start date—23 days earlier than last year’s announcement.
The early release is attributed to the timely submission of candidate lists by schools. Class 10 exams will commence with English, while Class 12 students will begin with Entrepreneurship.
Practical examinations will also begin earlier. Class 10 practical exams are scheduled for January 1st, 2025, conducted by school teachers. Class 12 practical exams will start on February 15th, 2025, overseen by external examiners. The CBSE has reiterated the established marking scheme, clarifying the weight given to theory, practicals, projects, and internal assessments.
CBSE officials stated that the early release aims to alleviate student stress and allow ample time for study and preparation. Schools will also benefit from the extended timeframe to organize practical exams and other logistical arrangements.
