Fri Nov 22 13:23:02 UTC 2024: ## Telangana’s BRS to Protest Land Acquisition, Accuses CM of Constitutional Flouting

**Hyderabad, November 22, 2024** – The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana will hold a protest meeting on November 25th in Mahabubabad district, following a High Court ruling allowing the gathering. The protest targets the state government’s alleged forceful land acquisition for a pharma cluster in Kodangal constituency, displacing tribal and Dalit farmers.

BRS leaders, including MLCs Satyavathi Rathod, Takkellapalli Ravinder Rao, and Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy, and former MP Maloth Kavitha, accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of disregarding the Constitution. They contrasted this with Rahul Gandhi’s public displays of upholding the Constitution, highlighting the perceived hypocrisy.

The party alleges that while the BRS government previously compensated tribal farmers for land acquired for a medical college in Mahabubabad, the current land acquisition in Lagcherla benefits private companies, allegedly linked to the Chief Minister’s family. The BRS questioned the Chief Minister’s ability to govern fairly, citing his inability to resolve the land acquisition dispute affecting a few villages in his own constituency. The protest aims to express solidarity with the affected farmers.
