**Mumbai, India –** Exit polls suggest a resounding victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti alliance in the Maharashtra assembly elections. Several pollsters, including Axis My India, P-MARQ, Matrize, Chanakya, and Peoples Pulse, project a significant win for the ruling coalition, although the precise seat projections vary.
Axis My India predicts a sweeping victory for Mahayuti with 178-200 seats out of 288, leaving the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) with only 82-102 seats. Other polls offer slightly narrower margins, but all indicate a clear Mahayuti majority. P-MARQ projects 137-157 seats for Mahayuti and 126-147 for MVA, while Matrize predicts 150-170 for Mahayuti and 110-130 for MVA. Even the most conservative predictions place Mahayuti well above the 145-seat majority mark.
The projected vote share also favors Mahayuti, with Axis My India estimating a 48% share compared to MVA’s 37%. Regional breakdowns show Mahayuti dominating across most areas, including Mumbai, Vidarbha, Konkan, Thane, and North Maharashtra. MVA is projected to perform relatively better only in Western Maharashtra.
While some polls suggest a stronger-than-expected performance by MVA, none predict a victory for the opposition coalition. The results are expected to be officially announced in the coming days.
