Thu Nov 21 14:43:51 UTC 2024: ## Maharashtra Assembly Election Results to be Announced on November 23rd

**Mumbai, India – November 21, 2024** – The fate of Maharashtra’s next government will be decided on November 23rd, as the Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the results of the state’s Assembly elections. Voting concluded on November 20th with approximately 65.11% voter turnout across 100,186 polling booths. Over 4,100 candidates contested for the 288 seats.

The election saw a fierce battle between two major alliances: the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti (comprising BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and Ajit Pawar’s NCP) and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance (Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar’s NCP). Smaller parties, including BSP and AIMIM, also participated, along with numerous independent candidates.

Exit polls paint a mixed picture, with some predicting a narrow win for the Mahayuti and others forecasting a victory for the MVA. Predictions vary widely, with seat projections ranging from 107-167 for Mahayuti and 107-150 for MVA. A majority requires 145 seats.

The official results will be available on the ECI website (results.eci.gov.in) throughout the day on November 23rd. Live updates will also be provided by various news outlets. The nation waits with bated breath to see which alliance will form the next government in Maharashtra.
