Thu Nov 21 04:55:42 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Air Quality Improves Slightly, but Remains ‘Very Poor’

**New Delhi, November 21, 2024** – Delhi’s air quality saw a marginal improvement on Thursday morning, moving from “severe” and “severe plus” categories to “very poor,” according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The 24-hour average AQI at 8 a.m. was 379.

However, the respite is uneven. Several locations across the city continue to experience “severe” air pollution. Anand Vihar (405), Ashok Vihar (414), Bawana (418), Dwarka Sector-8 (401), Mundka (413), and Wazirpur (436) all recorded AQIs in the “severe” range. This severe pollution has led to disruptions in rail services, with delays and rescheduling reported.

Following several days of critically poor air quality, the Delhi government on Wednesday ordered its non-essential offices, including those of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, to operate at half capacity. Essential services, such as hospitals, power, water, sanitation, and transport, remain fully operational.
