**Chennai, November 20, 2024** – A high-level review meeting chaired by Additional Director General of Police (Cyber Crime wing) Sandeep Mittal highlighted the need for more thorough investigations into cybercrimes in Chennai. Mr. Mittal emphasized that investigations should go beyond identifying “mule” account holders to dismantle entire criminal networks. He stressed the importance of collaboration with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) to track down masterminds and urged officers to pursue comprehensive financial investigations, including asset freezes, against the accused. Several officers received commendation certificates for their outstanding work, including the Madurai District Additional Superintendent of Police Karuppiah and his team for solving an online trading scam, and Cyber Crime Wing Headquarters ADSP Vetri Chezhian for his role in two significant arrests.
